The CDAC CCAT (Common Admission Test) is a competitive exam conducted by C-DAC for admission to its Post Graduate Diploma programs. This comprehensive guide covers everything you need to know.
Exam Structure
CCAT consists of 3 sections tested over 90 minutes. Each correct answer gives +2 marks, while wrong answers attract -0.5 marks. There is no sectional time limit.
- Section A — Quantitative Aptitude (40 questions)
- Section B — Technical / Programming (40 questions)
- Section C — Verbal Ability & Reasoning (20 questions)
Difficulty Level
CCAT is considered moderate to hard. Section B (Technical) is the most differentiating section and requires strong fundamentals in C programming, data structures, and algorithms.
Preparation Strategy
Start with Section B foundations (C programming and DS), then build your Quant base, and finally polish Verbal. Attempt at least 10 full-length mocks in the last 4 weeks.
